Falling in love with acting at a young age, Matthew began his career at an early age with a small role as a 'Bible Boy' in the BBC's My Family and training with the Stage Coach Theatre Arts School at weekends. Born in Surrey, England, Matthew attended The Winston Churchill School and soon discovered Shakespeare and the inner workings of stage acting. His performance as Petruchio in 'The Taming of The Shrew' in the Shakespeare Schools Festival earned him an invitation to audition for the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Joining the NYT was an experience that changed Matthews's life and soon after signed to a prestigious talent agent and began working in the industry. He made his film debut in Guillermo Del Toro's summer blockbuster 'Pacific Rim' and has continued to work since. His most recent work includes the upcoming gritty, British gangster tale 'Top Dog' and the highly anticipated sequel '22 Jump Street' starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Matthew makes his lead film debut as Eric in British independent film 'Little Pieces', set for release in 2014 and follows the story of two brothers on a collision course with the world around them. Matthew is also an avid writer and makes his writing debut with the short film 'Platonic', which has recently gone into production and is set for completion and release by Winter 2014. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Nick West
